Message from the Manga Artist, Go Nagai
More than thirty years ago, I was working on a series titled SATANIKUS! (aka "Dororon Enma-Kun"), in both manga and animation versions.
The main character, Satanikus (aka Enma-kun) was a very mischievous and interesting character. So I came to think, "What would become of him after he grows up? It might be interesting if he fought in a fiercer, grown-up way!" That's how the Demon Prince Enma project started.
This time, I wrote a manga version of Demon Prince Enma. It was entitled Demon Prince Enma-Raitei Jigoku Hen: An Introduction, and serialized in Magazine Z. I had much difficulty with how to show the characters from SATANIKUS!
Although the animation version is different from the manga in some aspects, including settings, I'm sure that will let us enjoy Enma's performance in various ways. So I'm really looking forward to watching it. |
