Super Robot Wars: OG - Divine Wars |
Hello, SRW fans! Guess what?! We got a chance to interview Mr. Terada! Here, he tells about the back stories of SRW! 1. The animation Super Robot Wars follows the release of the game in the U.S. What are your feelings about the U.S. release? “We are curious about what impressions Americans have about the anime. At the same time, their feelings are making us very nervous. For example, we’d like to know such things as which robots and characters they like the most.” 2. This is the first time you’ve tried your hand at an anime series. What were some of the difficulties you encountered or aspects you need to pay attention to? “With the anime version there are 26 episodes and each episode is 30 minutes, which meant there were time limits which weren’t a concern with the game. As a result, we were stressed to resolve the story within a certain time frame.” 3. Please tell us about any scenes or story from the TV series that were especially memorable? “The episodes that were particularly memorable were 6, 14, 20 and 25. Episodes 14 and 25 incorporated extra scenes which weren’t in the original game. A very impressive scene is at the beginning of Episode 1 when there is a showdown between two robots in silhouette. Another memorable scene is at the end of episode 24 when the robot appears and in Episode 25 there is another memorable battle scene. 4. There are several characters that appear in the TV series but among them, which do you think is the closest to your character? And also in what aspect do you think is the closest to you? “Although there are several characters that were modeled after people I know, there are no characters that are made to reflect my personality. There are some characters which have some similarities to me but even if I reveal, it I’m sure you’ll wonder if it’s true so I’ll just be quiet.” 5. A message to the American fans?“I personally am a person who was raised watching many American films so being able to make something that is watched in America is a strange feeling but I am honored to have this opportunity. Please watch the series completely until the end.” |
