.hack//ROOTS, Next Installment In The Hit Franchise, To Premiere On Cartoon Network's Adult Swim November 10th!

November 1, 2006 (Cypress, Ca) – Bandai Entertainment Inc. announced today that its anime series .hack/ROOTS will debut on Cartoon Network’s premiere anime block Adult Swim on November 10th at 5AM.

“.hack//ROOTS continues from .hack//SIGNS with an even more complex story and animation, we’re pleased to be working with Cartoon Network to bring to the United States,” said Mr. Ken Iyadomi, President of Bandai Entertainment Inc.

The story of .hack//ROOTS takes place in the year 2015, after the virtual reality known as ‘The World’ has burned to the ground and the datacenters containing all information about the world’s most popular games have been destroyed. Now, one year later, a new game has arrived and millions of players throughout the servers soon discover that this version of the world isn’t as forgiving as its previous incarnation. As one of the many newbies to begin his adventures in the R:2 world, Haseo finds himself a target of not only the numerous Player Killers, but of two rivaling guilds, who hope to use his reputed special gifts to pursue their own agendas.

“The anime series on Cartoon Network ties into .hack//G.U., the new game series from Namco-Bandai,” Mr. Iyadomi added, “so this is going to be a multimedia property that should really excite fans of the .hack universe.”
